FAQs & Troubleshooting

Make a two-sided copy. (Duplex)

To use the 2-sided(duplex) copy feature, follow the steps listed below.

 


 

  • Fit to Page, Page Layout, Book Copy and Watermark Copy are not available with Duplex Copy.
  • You can only use plain paper sizes Letter, A4 or A5.
  • Make sure to use Tray#1 to make Duplex Copy.

  1. Press Duplex Copy on the machine's panel.

  2. Press On to turn on the 2-sided(duplex) setting.

  3. Press Portrait Long edge flip, Portrait Short edge flip, Landscape Long edge flip or Landscape Short edge flip.

  4. Read "How to place the document", and then press Close button.

  5. Enter the number of copies you want.

  6. Load your document.

  7. Press Black(Mono) Start or Color(Colour) Start. If you placed the document in the ADF, the machine scans the pages and starts printing.
    If you are using the scanner glass, go to step 8.

  8. Do one of the following:
    - Place the next page on the scanner glass. Press Scan. Go to step 9.
    - After all the pages have been scanned, press Complete.

  9. Press Black(Mono) Start or Color(Colour) Start. The machine starts scanning and printing the page.

DO NOT touch the printed page until it is ejected the second time. The machine will print the first side and eject the paper and then pull the paper in to print the second side.

 

If you get a paper jam, press Advanced after step 2, and then press one of the jam prevention settings: DX1 or DX2.
DX1 uses a longer print time for the ink to dry.
DX2 uses a longer print time and will also print in lighter colors (using less ink).

 

 

- You can also make a 2-sided(Duplex) copy from the LCD following the steps listed below.

  1. Press Copy button.

  2. Load your document.

  3. Enter the number of copies you want.

  4. Press the left or right arrow key to display Duplex Copy.

  5. Press Duplex Copy.

  6. Press On to turn on the 2-sided(duplex) setting.

  7. Press Portrait Long edge flip, Portrait Short edge flip, Landscape Long edge flip or Landscape Short edge flip.

  8. Read "How to place the document", and then press Close button.

  9. Press Black(Mono) Start or Color(Colour) Start. If you placed the document in the ADF, the machine scans the pages and starts printing.
    If you are using the scanner glass, go to step 10.

  10. Do one of the following:
    - Place the next page on the scanner glass. Press Scan. Go to step 11.
    - After all the pages have been scanned, press Complete.

  11. Press Black(Mono) Start or Color(Colour) Start. The machine starts scanning and printing the page.
