Use PC-FAX with LPR

  • Sending a PC-FAX to a single destination
    • 1. Set media size, quality, fax-number
    Configuration file : /usr/local/Brother/inf/brFAXrc
    Configuration parameters :
    Option ItemParameter
    Paper sizeA4(A4 size), LTR(Letter size), LGL(Legal size)
    QualityFINE(200 x 200 dpi), STD(200 x 100 dpi)
    fax_numberFax number of the destination
    fax_number_listShould not have any parameter
    Example
    2. Send fax
    Command  :  lpr  -P  BRFAX  (filename)
    Available file format: .ps
  • Sending a PC-FAX to multiple destinations
    • 1. Create a fax number list
    Configuration file : the file will be indicated in brFAXrc
    Format and rules of the file
  • One destination number / One line
  • Tilde(~) and 2 byte caracter can not be used.
  • Maximum 50 destinations
  • "#" for comment out mark.
  • Hyphen("-") works as a pause.
