Error Messages (LCD, PC) or LED Lights - Troubleshooting

Error Message on LCD

• I still receive the error message "Replace Parts Drum" or "Replace Drum" after I replace the drum unit with a new one.
• I don't think I got the full yield from my high-yield toner cartridge but the message "Toner Life End" or "Replace Toner" is displayed on the machine or the LED is on or flashing.
• I keep getting the error message "Authenticate Err (Authentication error)".
• The message "DR Mode in Use" is displayed on my Brother machine.
• When I try to print from Microsoft® Word or another program, I receive a message stating: "No Paper", "Reload paper in MP Tray" or "Insert Paper Manual Feed".
• When I try to send a fax the message "FAX # Restricted" appears on the display.
• When I try to send a fax the message "FAX # Restricted" appears on the display.
• I just replaced the toner cartridge and the LCD continues to display the message "Toner Low" / "Replace Toner" / "Toner Life End" or the Toner LED is still on or flashing.
• How do I clear the message "No Paper" from the display?

LED Indication

Error Message on PC Display

• When installing the Macintosh OS X printer driver it displays a message that you need to type your password to install this software.
• The message "xxxxxxx.xxx can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." appears on OS X v10.8.x. (where xxxxxxx.xxx is the file name.)
• The error message "IS052 InstallNetworkDriver" appears when installing the MFL-Pro Suite from the CD-ROM or the Full Driver & Software Package is downloaded from the "Download" section.
• The Error message "A file required cannot be found.(CC035)" appears when I click "Remote Setup" or "Quick-Dial" button from ControlCenter2. (For Macintosh)
• The error message "Invalid format for short nick name" appears when printing a document. (Mac OS® X 10.5 or greater)
• I'm using Windows® 8. I insert the CD-ROM supplied with my machine into my PC's CD-ROM drive, but the error message "This CD does not contain drivers for your computer operating system." appears.
• I'm using Windows® 7. I insert the CD-ROM supplied with my machine into my PC's CD-ROM drive, but　the error message "This CD does not contain drivers for your computer operating system." appears.
• The error message "An error occurred during the installation. ... . IS015- GetOsVersion - 1" appears when installing the Full Driver & Software Packages for Windows® 7 downloaded from the "Download" section.
• When I try to install the MFL-Pro Suite from the CD-ROM, the error "An error occurred during the installation... IS031-CreateFaxRxDataFolder - x" appears and I cannot continue the installation.
• When I try to scan to OCR I get an error message saying "This feature is not available because there is no OCR Software installed".
• I cannot scan via network getting the error "CC031" or "MTW012". (Mac OS X)
• When I start the Remote Setup Software, the error message "RS 005-xx" or "RS 006-xx" appears on the display.
• I receive an error message stating "USB Device Not Recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it" when I connect the Brother machine to a computer.
• When I try to install the MFL-Pro Suite from the CD-ROM, the error dialogue appears and I cannot continue installing the MFL-Pro Suite.  The error says "Install the latest Windows® Service Pack and try again".
• I configured the "IP Config" method of the machine to "Auto" to assign an IP address automatically, however it was changed to "Static" unexpectedly. I get an error message that indicates IP address is not unique, or a document is printed out by the machine I didn't expected.
• When scanning to OCR from ScanSoft™ PaperPort™ 11SE, the following error message appears: "System error incurred in external Link module EZText.g32. The OCR server is unable to process the document". I have Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed.
• When I run the Firmware update tool or the I-FAX install tool, the "Program failed to run" message appears on my PC screen. What do I do?
• How do I clear the message "MFC is Busy" or "Connect Failure"?
• I receive an error message when trying to use network functions.(For Windows®)
