Printer Driver & Scanner Driver for Local Connection

This download only includes the printer and scanner (WIA and/or TWAIN) drivers, optimized for USB or Parallel interface. Please note that the availability of these interfaces depends on the model number of your machine and the operating system you are using.

To get the most functionality out of your Brother machine, we recommend you install Full Driver & Software Package *. (* Not available for Windows Server®.)

The installed driver will use the language detected from your operating system settings. You can choose a different language by using the "Driver Language Switching Tool" after the driver installation is complete. Click here to download the latest "Driver Language Switching Tool".

How to Download and Install

NOTE:
Unplug the FAX/MFC/DCP from the AC outlet and disconnect your FAX/MFC/DCP from your computer if you already connected an interface cable.
(For Windows® 2000 Professional, you must be logged on as the Administrator.)

  1. Make a temporary directory on your HDD to save the downloaded file, e.g. C:\bront
  2. Start downloading.
  3. Once downloading is completed, double click the downloaded file to extract it.
  4. Connect the FAX/MFC/DCP to your PC by Parallel or USB Cable and turn on the FAX/MFC/DCP by plugging in the power cord.
  5. When the "Found New Hardware Wizard" screen appears, click "Next".
  6. Select (Recommended) and click "Next".
  7. Check only "Specify a location" and click "Next".
  8. Click on "Browse" and click on the drop down menu in the DRIVES field to select the folder created in Step 3. Click "Open", then "OK".
  9. Make sure "Specify a location" is selected and click "Next".
  10. Click Finish.
  11. Repeat the steps from 5 to 10 two more times.
