Print Problem - Troubleshooting

General

• The printer status is Offline or Paused. (For Macintosh)
• The printer status is Offline or Paused. (For Windows®)
• I want to change the printer driver settings, but the OK button of the printing preferences dialog box is out of the PC screen and I cannot click on it.
• Stop the paper feeding twice through the machine when printing single pages with 2-sided(duplex) switched to on in the printer driver. (For Windows® Only)
• The print speed is very slow when I use XML Paper Specification Printer Driver.
• When I print using the XML Paper Specification Printer Driver, the print out result is not what I exepected, it is very different from the original draft or preview or I cannot print at all.

Cannot Print

• The error message "No Supported Devices Found" appears when I tap the Brother iPrint&Scan icon on my mobile device ( iPhone, iPod touch, iPad ).
• Unable to print or scan when using Brother iPrint&Scan from my Windows® Phone 7 mobile device.
• Unable to print or scan when using iPrint&Scan from my Android mobile device.
• I installed drivers from the bundled CD-ROM but I cannot print. (Mac OS X 10.5 or greater)
• I cannot print from my computer via USB.
• Print Unable XX
• The error message "Invalid format for short nick name" appears when printing a document. (Mac OS® X 10.5 or greater)
• I cannot print from my computer via network. (For Macintosh)
• I cannot print from my computer via network. (For Windows®)
• Cannot print from my PC using Windows Vista® or Windows® XP SP3 when connected by USB. No error messages appear on the machine, but I still cannot print from my PC.

Print Quality Problem

• I just setup my Brother machine and my printed pages are light or faded on one side.
• Adjust color settings by using the custom setting in the printer driver
• Offset image
• Thin lines do not print.
• I am using Mac OS X 10.5. When printing with the BR-Script Printer Driver, the black color is ruddy.
• Carry out calibration to improve the color density

• Colors are light or unclear on the whole page
• When I print from PowerPoint using the 2 in 1 feature, some of the borders around the document are not printed or lines are printed that shouldn't be there.
• White spots or hollow print
• Colored streaks or bands down the page
• All one color
• Completely blank or some colors are missing.

Printing from an application

• The Universal Printer Driver searches for the Brother devices on a single network even though my computer connects to multiple networks. (For Windows® users)
• When I print a document as a booklet from Microsoft Office 2003, a drawing object does not position correctly on the printed page. (For Windows® BR-Script Printer Drivers users)
• I'm printing from Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 but it is not using the settings I select in the Universal Printer Driver. (For Windows® XP)
• The printout is out of alignment or the size of the printed document is reduced when printing the document from Microsoft Word 2010.
• When I print from Microsoft Excel 2002/2003, Word 2002/2003 or PowerPoint 2002/2003, semitransparent graphics are printed incorrectly.
• I'm using Windows Vista®. I printed an Excel 2007 graph, but the print result is not correct, a part of the graph is not printed.
• Some characters are missing when printing PDF files from Adobe® Acrobat® / Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® / Adobe® Reader®. What can I do to correct this?
• I'm using the BR-Script3 driver, and my Brother machine does not print my document with the Booklet option I selected in Adobe® Acrobat®/ Adobe® Reader®.
• When I try to print thin color borders in Microsoft® Excel, the borders are printed in black.
• When I print from Outlook/ Outlook Express or Internet Explorer, the page does not print as expected. For example, the right or left hand portion of the page is blank or it prints on a separate piece of paper.
