Title:

Why does the tape keep jamming?

Description:

The most common reason the tape is jamming is that the cutter is being engaged during the printing process by the end user, thus blocking the path of the tape resulting in a tape jam. Please ensure not to engage the cutter until the tape has stopped feeding after printing the entire label.

In addition it has been noted that in some cases the end of the tape is not correctly feed under the tape guides, which is normal due to incorrect handling of the cassette during installation of the cassette. Please check that the end of the tape feeds under the tape guides as shown in the image below.

In some isolate cases the tape cassette is bound and will not advance tape and it is recommended that the cassette be disposed of and another cartridge used with the machine.

In addition you should make sure the cassette tape is not empty, which is normally determined by the presence of a green or vertical striped backing material being feed from the cassette. This backing material will stop feeding shortly after appearing and the cassette should be disposed of and another cartridge used with the machine.

If the problem persists after taking the above listed action, your machine may require service.
