Set the paper size and paper type in the printer driver

Description:

Please follow the steps below to set the paper size and paper type in the printer driver.

NOTE: Illustrations shown below are from a representative product and operating system, and may differ from your Brother machine and operating system.

For Windows® [ printer driver | BR-Script printer driver ]
For Mac OS X [ CUPS printer driver | BR-Script printer driver ]

For Windows® printer driver:

  1. Open Printing Preferences. Click here to see the details of how to open Printing Preferences.
  2. Click the Basic tab.
  3. Choose the appropriate paper size in the Paper Size.
  4. Choose the appropriate paper type in the Media Type.
  5. Click OK.

For Windows® BR-Script printer driver:

  1. Open Printing Preferences. Click here to see the details of how to open Printing Preferences.
  2. Click Advanced....
  3. Choose the appropriate paper size in the Paper Size of the Paper/Output.
  4. Choose the appropriate paper type in the Media Type of the Document Options.
  5. Click OK.

For Mac OS X CUPS printer driver:


To set the paper size:
  1. From an application such as Apple TextEdit, click File, then Page Setup.
    Make sure Brother XXXX (where XXXX is your model name) is chosen in the Format for pop-up menu.
  2. Choose the appropriate paper size in the Paper Size, then click OK.

To set the paper type:
  1. Open the Print dialog. Click here to see the details of how to open Print dialog.
  2. Choose Print Settings from the pane pop-up menu, and click the Basic tab.
  3. Choose the appropriate paper type in the Media Type.

For Mac OS X BR-Script printer driver:


To set the paper size:
  1. From an application such as Apple TextEdit, click File, then Page Setup.
    Make sure Brother XXXX (where XXXX is your model name) is chosen in the Format for pop-up menu.
  2. Choose the appropriate paper size in the Paper Size, then click OK.

  1. Open the Print dialog. Click here to see the details of how to open Print dialog.
  2. Choose Printer Features from the pane pop-up menu, and choose General 1 (Set 1 for Mac OS X 10.4) for Feature Sets.
  3. Choose the appropriate paper type in the Media Type.
