Title:
When I print from a Macintosh using OS® X 10.3 (Panther) using the Brother printer driver (PCL driver), the first printed page is the last page of the document  (Reverse Page Order). What can I do?

Description:

To solve the problem, please update your Mac driver following the instructions below:

  1. Delete the printer name from the printer list.
  2. Click here and download the new driver.
  3. Once downloaded, double click on the file. The Installer Disk Image is mounted on your Desktop. You will find the icon BrotherXXXX.pkg on the desktop.
  4. Double-click the icon.
  5. Follow the instructions.

 

For USB Users:

  1. Switch off and unplug the product from the AC outlet and disconnect it from your Macintosh if you already connected an interface cable.
  2. Turn on your Macintosh.
  3. Connect the USB interface cable to your Macintosh, and then connect it to the product. (Note: Do not connect the product to a USB port on a keyboard or a non powered USB hub. )
  4. Open the "Printer Setup Utility". The "Printer Setup Utility" can be found in /Applications/Utilities.
  5. Click Add Printer...
  6. Select "USB".
  7. Select your machine.
  8. Select "Brother" from the "Printer Model" list.
  9. Select your printer model's CUPS driver from "Model Name" list.
    The name of CUPS driver is "model name + CUPS.gz".
  10. Click Add. The printer will be available from the "Printer List".
  11. Select Quit from the menu.
  12. The setup is now complete.

 

For Network Users:

  1. Switch off and unplug the product from the AC outlet and disconnect it from your Macintosh if you already connected an interface cable.
  2. Turn on your Macintosh.
  3. Connect the network interface cable to the product, and then connect it to a free port on your hub.
  4. Turn on the product by plugging in the power cord. Turn the power switch on.
  5. Open the "Printer Setup Utility". The "Printer Setup Utility" can be found in /Applications/Utilities.
  6. Click Add Printer…
  7. Select "IP Printing".
  8. Select "LPD/LPR" from the "Printer Type" list.
  9. Enter the TCP/IP Address(or DNS Name) of the printer into the "Printer Address" box.
  10. Select "Brother" from the "Printer Model" list.
  11. Select your printer model's CUPS driver from "Model Name" list.
    The name of CUPS driver is "model name + CUPS.gz".
  12. Click Add. The printer will be available from the "Printer List".
  13. Select Quit from the menu.
  14. The setup is now complete.
