Title:

I get an error "Print Queue is stopped". (Mac OS X 10.5 or greater)

Description:

If you are trying to print and you get a message that the Print Queue is stopped, you will need to reactivate the queue to continue. This is actually a feature of the "Print & Fax" or "Print & Scan" Utility application which allows you to pause print jobs for later printing or batch printing. Please follow the instructions listed below.

  1. Click on the Apple Menu and choose System Preferences.

  2. Click on the Hardware -> Print & Fax or Print & Scan icon.

  3. Double-click the printer name from the printer list.

Note

Depending on the version of Mac OS X you are using, there may be different menu items and the appearance may vary, even though the functionality remains constant.

  1. Another window will then open and you will see a button that will start the jobs. This button may indicate "Stopped" or "Start Jobs" or "Resume Printer". Click the button to begin to print again.
