What can I do with the Add-In function? (P-touch Editor 4.2)

Description:
Basically, you can create and print labels quickly and easily by highlighting the text/data in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook and clicking the P-touch icon .

What you can do with the Add-In function are as follows:

Displaying the Add-In preview window
Importing the text/data into the P-touch Editor 4.2 edit screen
Printing immediately from Microsoft® Word/Excel/Outlook
Recording the text/data in the Label List



  • Displaying the Add-In preview window

    Before using the Add-In function, please set the Add-In utility:
    Select [Start] - [Programs (All Programs)] - [Brother P-touch] - [P-touch Tools] - [P-touch Editor 4.2 Add-Ins Utility]. The "Brother P-touch Add-In Settings" dialog box will appear. Select "Add-In Preview" from the "Apply:" list for each application, and then click "OK".



    Now, the preview window will appear with the text/data you highlight just by clicking .
  • Importing the text/data into the P-touch Editor 4.2 edit screen.

    Before using the Add-In function, please set the Add-Ins utility:
    Select [Start] - [Programs (All Programs)] - [Brother P-touch] - [P-touch Tools] - [P-touch Editor 4.2 Add-Ins Utility]. The "Brother P-touch Add-In Settings" dialog box will appear. Select "P-touch Editor" from the "Apply:" list for each application, and then click "OK".



    Now, the text/data you highlight will be imported into the edit screen just by clicking .
  • Printing immediately from Microsoft® Word/Excel/Outlook

    Before using the Add-In function, please set teh Add-Ins utility:
    Select [Start] - [Programs (All Programs)] - [Brother P-touch] - [P-touch Tools] - [P-touch Editor 4.2 Add-Ins Utility]. The "Brother P-touch Add-In Settings" dialog box will appear. Select "Print Immediately" from the "Apply:" list for each application, and then click "OK".



    Now, the text/data you highlight will be printed immediately just by clicking .

Note

The default or the last used layout style for currently installed label/tape size will be applied to the text/data you highlight.



  • Recording the text/data in the Label List

    Before using the Add-In function, please set the Label List option:
    Select [Tools] - [Options...] in the P-touch Editor edit screen. Click the [Lable List]. Check the "Automatically Record Imported Data" box on.



    Now, the text/data you highlight will be recorded in the Label List just by clicking .
