This problem can be solved by installing the printer driver manually.
The procedures are as follows.
-
Connect the P-touch to your PC and switch on, to start Plug and Play.
(Do not use the Brother driver install program.)
When the following "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box appears, select "No, not this time" and then press the Next button.

Select the "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and press the Next button.

-
Select the "Search for the best driver in these locations." and then select the tick box for the "Include this location in the search:" and specify the "WIN2000" or "WIN2KDRV" in the extracted driver folder.

Press the Next button.
-
When the installation starts, the following warning message appears.
This warning appears because the P-touch printer driver has not received Microsoft authentication. Since we have confirmed the correct operation on Windows XP, click the "Continue Anyway" button to continue the installation.
-
The following dialog box appears.

Finally press the Finish button to close the wizard.
