Title:

Support for Mac OS X 10.4

Description:

With Mac OS X 10.3.2 to 10.3.9 - compatible software, Mac OS X 10.4 is unable to show error message details when an error occurs (e.g. tape size error).

We have released new versions in which the above limitation was fixed. Please click the Downloads tab that is on the top left corner of this page, then download and install the latest versions of P-touch Editor and the printer driver that are compatible with Mac OS X 10.4.

The following features have been added to Mac OS X 10.4 - compatible software.

  • P-touch Editor automatically detects the media size (label/tape size) that is currently installed in your printer.

P-touch Editor detects the label/tape size when the printer is powered. If the printer is not powered, the label/tape size that was used last time is displayed in P-touch Editor. Also, the status of the printer is detected when printing.

If printing is not possible, the following message appears.

    Ensure the following:
    • The printer is switched on.
    • The label/tape size installed in the printer matches the one selected in P-touch Editor.
    • The label/tape is installed correctly into the printer.

  • The "Check Media" button to detect the media (label/tape) currently installed has been added.

After you replace the label/tape with another one, press the "Check Media" button to detect the newly installed label/tape.

  • When an error occurs, you can see the error information by clicking the Utility.

Note

To use the "Check Media" function described above, you need to update both P-touch Editor and the driver to the latest versions.
