Note



 Step-1 Activate the wireless card of your Brother machine
  1. Press Menu.
  2. Scroll to Network or LAN. Press OK.
  3. Scroll to Network I/F. Press OK.
  4. Select WLAN.Press OK.
  5. Press Stop/Exit.

Step-2 Establish a wireless connection between your Brother machine and PC

  • For Windows® XP

    1. Click on Start.
    2. Click on Connect to.
    3. Click on Wireless Network Connection.
    4. A window will open with the list of available networks.
    5. Scroll through the wireless network connections and select SETUP.
    6. Click Connect.

      Note

      If you get the pop up window click Connect Anyway, otherwise continue.


    7. Close the window.

  • For Windows Vista®

    1. Click on Start.
    2. Click on Connect to.
    3. A window will open with the list of available networks.
    4. Scroll through the wireless network connections.
    5. Select SETUP.
    6. Click Connect.
    7. Click Connect Anyway.
    8. Close the window.

Step-3 Set up the driver of your Brother machine.

Insert the CD-ROM of your Brother machine into the CD-ROM drive of your PC and then follow the procedures below:

  • For Windows® XP

    1. Select your language.
    2. Initial Installation.
    3. In the Main Menu, click Install MFL Pro Suite.
    4. At the PaperPort™ license agreement, read it and click Yes to continue.
    5. At the MFL Pro license agreement, read it and click Yes to continue.
    6. At the MFL Pro driver installation, choose Wireless Network Connection, do not check the Custom Install box. Click Next.
    7. At the next screen, check the Checked and confirmed box. Click Next.
    8. At the Firewall detection window, check the Change Firewall port setting statement. Click Next.
    9. At the Online Registration window, click Next.
    10. At the Brother MFL-Pro Suite installation completed window, select Yes, I want to restart my computer now. Click Finish.

  • For Windows Vista®

    1. Select your language.
    2. Initial Installation.
    3. In the Main Menu, click Install MFL Pro Suite.
    4. At the PaperPort™ license agreement, read it and click Yes to continue.
    5. At the MFL pro license agreement, read it and click Yes to continue.
    6. At the MFL Pro driver installation, choose Wireless Network Connection, do not check the Custom Install box. Click Next.
    7. At the next screen, check the Checked and confirmed box. Click Next.
    8. At the Firewall detection window, check the Change Firewall port setting statement. Click Next.
    9. At the "Would you like to install this device software?" check the Always trust software from "Brother Industries, ltd". Click Install.
    10. At the Online Registration window, click Next.
    11. At the Brother MFL-Pro Suite installation completed window, select Yes , I want to restart my computer now. Click Finish.

      Note

      Please note that you will need to reconnect to your ad-hoc network once Windows Vista® has restarted. (follow Step 2 again)
