How do I change my Brother machine's paper type and size?

Description:

To adjust your Brother machine's paper type and size settings follow the instructions listed below:

To get the best print quality, set your Brother machine for the type of paper you're using.

When you change the size of the paper you load into your Brother machine, you must also change the machine's Paper Size setting.

*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For Touchscreen models" below.
  1. Press Menu.

  2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose General Setup.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Paper Type.

  5. Press OK.

  6. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose the paper type you want to use.

  7. Press OK.

  8. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Paper Size.

  9. Press OK.

  10. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose the paper size you want to use.

  11. Press OK.

  12. Press Stop/Exit.

Note

  • Your Brother machine ejects paper onto the paper tray in front of the machine with the printed surfaces face up. When you are printing on transparencies or glossy paper, please remove each page as it is ejected to prevent smudging or paper jams.


<For Touchscreen models>
  1. Press Menu.

  2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to display General Setup.

  3. Press General Setup.

  4. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to display Paper Type.

  5. Press Paper Type.

  6. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to display the paper type you want to use.
    (This step might be skipped in some models.)

  7. Press the option you want to set.

  8. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to display Paper Size.

  9. Press Paper Size.

  10. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to display the paper size you want to use.
    (This step might be skipped in some models.)

  11. Press the option you want to set.

  12. Press Stop/Exit.
