How do I print data directly from the memory card or the USB flash memory drive?

Caution

The USB direct interface supports only a USB Flash memory drive, a PictBridge compatible camera, or a digital camera that uses the USB mass storage standard. Any other USB devices are not supported.

To print data directly from the memory card or the USB flash memory drive, please follow the instructions below:

Caution

DO NOT unplug the power cord or remove the memory card or USB Flash memory drive from the media drive (slot) or USB direct interface while the machine is reading or writing to the memory card or USB Flash memory drive (the Photo Capture key is blinking). You will lose your data or damage the card.

Using View Photos

You can preview your photos on the LCD and print them. If your photos are large files there may be a delay before each photo is displayed on the LCD.
  1. Make sure you have put the memory card or USB Flash memory drive in the proper slot. Press Photo Capture.

  2. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose View Photo(s). Press OK.

  3. Press the Left or Right Arrow key to choose your photo.

    Note

    For MFC users:
    Instead of scrolling through your photos, you can use the dial pad to enter the number of the image from the index page.(See STEP 2 in "Using Index (Thumbnails) page" below.)

  4. - For DCP users:
    Press + or - repeatedly to enter the number of copies you want.
    - For MFC users:
    Enter the number of copies you want using the dial pad.

  5. Repeat STEP 3 and STEP 4 until you have chosen all the photos.

    Note

    Press Clear/Back or Clear to go back to the previous level.

  6. After you have chosen all the photos, do one of the following:
    -Press OK and change the print settings. Then press Color Start or Colour Start to print.
    -If you do not want to change any settings, press Color Start or Colour Start to print.

Using Index (Thumbnails) page
  1. Make sure you have put the memory card or USB Flash memory drive in the proper slot.

  2. Print the Index.

    The PhotoCapture Center® assigns numbers for images (such as No.1, No.2, No.3, and so on). The PhotoCapture Center® does not recognize any other numbers or file names that your digital camera or computer has used to identify the pictures. You can print a thumbnail page. This will show all the pictures on the memory card or USB Flash memory drive.

    Note

    Only file names that are 8 characters or less will be printed correctly on the index sheet.

    1. Press Photo Capture.
    2. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Print Index. Press OK.
    3. Choose the layout format.
    4. Choose the paper type and paper size of  paper you are using.
    5. Press Color Start or Colour Start to start printing the index sheet.
    6. Make a note of the image number you want to print.


  3. Press Photo Capture.

  4. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to choose Print Photos. Press OK.

  5. - For DCP users:
    Press the Up Arrow key repeatedly to enter the image number that you want to print from the Index page(Thumbnails).
    If you want to choose a two digit number, press the Right Arrow key to move the cursor to the next digit. For example, enter 1, the Right Arrow key, 6 to print image No.16.
    Press OK.

    Note

    Press the Down Arrow key to decrease the image number.


    - For MFC users:
    Enter the image number that you want to print from the Index page(Thumbnails). Press OK.

  6. Repeat STEP5 until you have entered all the image numbers that you want to print.

    Note

    • - For DCP users:
      You can enter multiple numbers at one time by using the OK key for a comma.
      For example, Enter the 1, OK, 3, OK, 6 to print images No.1, No.3 and No.6.

      - For MFC users:
      You can enter multiple numbers at one time by using the * key for a comma or the # key for a hyphen.
      For example, Enter the 1, *, 3, *, 6 to print images No.1, No.3 and No.6.
      Enter the 1, #, 5 to print images No.1 to No.5.

    • You can enter up to 12 characters (including commas) for the image numbers you want to print.

  7. After you have chosen all the image numbers, press OK again.

  8. - For DCP users:
    Press + or - repeatedly to enter the number of copies you want.

    - For MFC users:
    Enter the number of copies you want using the dial pad.

  9. Do one of the following:
    -Change the print settings (Paper Type, Paper Size etc), and then press Color Start or Colour Start to print.
    -If you do not want to change any settings, press Color Start or Colour Start to print.
