Title:
Whenever anyone attempts to leave a message, all they hear are funny sounds and eventually a high pitched squeal. Why is this happening?

Description:

The problem is that the Message Center or Digital TAD unit is in the F/T mode and not the Message Center or TAD mode. The F/T mode will not allow any voice messages to be recorded.You must set up Message Center or Digital TAD in the following order:


<STEP1> Recording Message Center or TAD Outgoing Message:

Recording the Message Center or TAD Outgoing Message is the first step you need to follow before you can turn on the Message Center or Digital TAD. Make sure your OGM is less than 20 seconds long.

  1. Press the Menu key on the Control Panel.

  2. Press the up or down arrow key until Fax appears and press OK.

  3. Press the up or down arrow key until Setup Msg Ctr or Setup TAD appears and press OK.

  4. Press the up or down arrow key until OGM appears and press OK.

  5. Press the up or down arrow key until Msg Ctr OGM or TAD Message appears and press OK.

  6. Press the up or down arrow key until Record OGM. or Record MSG. and press OK.

  7. Use the integrated microphone to record your message. Press Stop/Exit when finished.

  8. Replace the handset. The Message Center or Digital TAD will play your OGM.

  9. Press Stop/Exit.

Note

    This is the only setting you can select if you want to turn the Message Center or Digital TAD on.

<STEP2> Activating Message Center or TAD Mode:

Press and hold the Message Center or Digital TAD key until the button lights and the screen displays MC:Msg Ctr or TAD:MsgMgr. When Message Center or Digital TAD light is out, the Message Center or Digital TAD is off.
