Please follow the steps below to solve the problem:
-
Verify that the LAN cable and the power cord of the Brother machine are connected. If the power cord is connected to a surge protector or power switch, remove the cord from the device and connect it directly to the outlet.
-
Verify that the Brother machine and your PC are connected using a Peer-to-Peer environment and that there is no central server controlling file access or printer sharing.

-
Verify that the Link light of the router or the hub is ON.
-
Verify that both IP addresses of your PC and the Brother machine are correct and located in the same segment.
-
-
Try searching for the Brother machine on the network again.
-
If you can view the Brother machine, the Firewall on your computer is rejecting the necessary network connection. In this case, you will need to disable the Firewall on your computer whenever you search for the Brother machine on the network.
Note
After you have completed searching for the Brother unit and configuring the machine or after you install the BRAdmin Professional software, re-enable your Firewall. For instructions on how to re-enable a third party Firewall, refer to your user's guide for the software or contact the software manufacturer. For Windows® XP users, follow the instructions above and replace the check in the box or select On (recommended) to re-enable the Windows® XP Firewall.
