How to identify your Operating System (OS) for Windows® or Macintosh.

Description:

It is important to use the correct drivers/utilities which are compatible with the operating system (OS) you are using. Please follow the steps below to check the operating system (OS) you are using.

The latest drivers/utilities compatible with Windows® are available in the Downloads section. Follow the steps below to check the operating system (OS), and then visit the Downloads section.

  1. Check what your computer screen is like, and click the link below for the screen.

    1. Start screen

    1. On the Start screen, Right-click somewhere on an empty spot (1), and then click, All Apps from the bar (2).

    2. Right-click on Computer (1) and then click Properties (2).

    3. Go to STEP 2.

    1. Move your mouse to the upper or lower right corner of your Desktop screen. When the menu bar appears, click Settings.

    2. Click PC info.

    3. Go to STEP 2.

    1. Click  or Start (at the lower left corner of the screen). Right-click Computer or My Computer and choose Properties.

    Hint

    If you cannot find, Computer or My Computer, in the start menu, right-click the Computer or My Computer icon on the desktop and choose Properties.


  2. Check the Windows Edition or System. That is the operating system (OS) you are using.

    The screen varies depending on the operating system you are using. Below are screen examples.

     

  3. If you use Windows Vista®, Windows® 7, Windows® 8, or Windows Server® 2008, check the version of your operating system, 32-bit or 64-bit.

    Check the System type, which we have surrounded by a blue box below. You can know which version of OS, 32-bit or 64-bit, you are using.




For Macintosh


The latest drivers/utilities compatible with Macintosh are available in the Downloads section. Follow the steps below to check the operating system (OS), and then visit the Downloads section.

  1. Choose About This Mac from the Apple menu.

  2. Check the Version. That is the operating system (OS) you are using.
