I have two fax machines on one line. My Brother machine answers the faxes that I send from the other machine.

Description:

If you have two fax machines one the same telephone line, one machine may receive faxes sent from the other.

If your Brother machine is intercepting the faxes you send from the other machine, follow these steps to turn Easy Receive or Fax Detect setting Off:

*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, please follow the steps under "For touchscreen models" below.


  1. Press Menu.

  2. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Fax.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Setup Receive.

  5. Press OK.

  6. Press the Up or Down arrow key to choose Easy Receive or Fax Detect.

  7. Press the Left or Right arrow key to choose Off.

  8. Press OK.

  9. Press Stop/Exit.

<For touchscreen models>

  1. Press Menu on the screen.

  2. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Fax.

  3. Press Fax.

  4. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Setup Receive.

  5. Press Setup Receive.

  6. Press the Up or Down arrow to display Easy Receive or Fax Detect.

  7. Press Easy Receive or Fax Detect.

  8. Press Off.

  9. Press Stop/Exit.
