Store a Speed Dial number from my Brother machine's Caller ID History.

  • Caller ID is a telephone service. The service name may vary depending on your area.

  • Caller ID service varies with different carriers. Call your local telephone company to find out about the kind of service available in your area.

If you subscribe to your telephone company's Caller ID Service, you can store Speed Dial numbers from your Brother machine's Caller ID History by following the steps below:
*If your Brother machine has a touchscreen, follow the steps of "For Touchscreen models" below.


NOTE: Illustrations shown below are from a representative product and may differ from your Brother machine.


  1. Press FAX(FAX) and Caller ID hist.

  2. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose the name or number you want to store.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose Add to AddressBook or Add to Speed Dial. Press OK.

  5. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to choose the 2-digit Speed Dial location where you want to store the number.

  6. Press OK.

  7. Do one of the following:

    • If you want to store the displayed name, press OK.

    • Enter the name (up to 16 characters) using the dial pad. Press OK.

    • To store the number without a name, press OK.


  8. Press OK to confirm the fax or telephone number.

  9. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key choose Complete. Press OK.

  10. Press Stop/Exit.
<For Touchscreen models>

  1. Press History or image.

  2. Press image or the Caller ID hist. tab.

  3. Press the UP OR DOWN ARROW key to display the name or number you want to store. (This step might be skipped in some models.)

  4. Press the number you want to store.

  5. Press More.

  6. Press Add Speed Dial.

  7. Do one of the following:

    • If you want to store the displayed name, press OK.

    • Enter the name (up to 16 characters) by pressing the buttons on the screen. Press OK.

    • To store the number without a name, press OK.


  8. Press OK to confirm the fax or telephone number you want to store.

  9. Do one of the following: (This step might be skipped in some models.)

    • Enter a second fax or telephone number (up to 20 digits) by pressing the buttons on the screen. Press OK.

    • If you do not want to store a second number, press OK.


  10. To choose where the number will be stored, do one of the following:

    • To accept the displayed next available Speed Dial location, press OK.

    • To enter a different Speed Dial location, press image and a 2-digit number using the buttons on the screen. Press OK.

    Note

    If the 2-digit Speed Dial location you choose is already taken, the OK button on the machine's display (hereinafter called LCD) will not work. Choose a different location.



  11. When the LCD displays your settings, press OK to confirm.

  12. Press Stop/Exit.
