Title:
I just received the settings from my Internet service provider for SMTP Authentication and Outbound Port25 Blocking. How should I set it up?

Description:

Follow the steps listed below:


  1. To use Web Based Management, type http://IP address on the machine/ into your web browser.
  2. Click Network Configuration at the top of the page.
  3. You will be prompted for the administrator user name and password.  Enter this information and click ok.
    (NOTE:  Default user name is "admin", and the default password is "access".)
  4. In the Network Configuration page, click Configure Protocol.
  5. Click Advanced Setting at the POP3/SMTP.
  6. Configure and change the following settings.

    1. To correspond to OP25B, enter "587". Default is "25".
    2. Select the authentication method specified by your provider.
      For example: SMTP-AUTH
    3. Input your account name for the SMTP server.
      For example: brother_ifax
    4. Input your password for the SMTP server.

  7. Click Submit.


If the error still occurs, change the value of "Timeout for Gateway" as below.

  1. Click Network Configuration at the top of the page.
  2. In the Network Configuration page, click Configure TCP/IP => Advanced Settings.
  3. Change the value of the "Timeout for Gateway" to "60". Default is "5".
  4. Click Submit.
