I am using Windows® XP, and the driver installation failed. I cannot uninstall or reinstall the driver.

Step1. Uninstall


For FAX/MFC/DCP models Users:
For Windows® XP, you can uninstall the printer driver using Brother's un-install tool. To uninstall the current drivers, download the Uninstall Tool.

For Printer Users:
Follow the instructions below to uninstall a printer driver:

  1. Start => Control Panel.
  2. Open Printers and Faxes.
  3. Select your printer's icon and delete it.
  4. On the File menu, click Server Properties, and then click the Drivers tab.
  5. In the Installed printer drivers list, click the driver you want to remove, click Remove, and then click Yes.

Step2. Reinstall

You can download a driver from Downloads section. For more information, go to Downloads section.
If the message regarding Windows® Logo testing appears, click Continue.


If you cannot uninstall or reinstall the driver with the procedure above, use the Windows® XP System Restore feature. For more information, go to Microsoft®'s web site.
